What does it mean to Flourish?

If you’ve seen our Ladyboss Summit artwork you may be wondering, “what’s with all of the fruit?” This year’s theme is to flourish, and just like the fruits and flowers we’re beginning to see pop up after a rough winter, we know it’s your time to grow into your best self. To flourish means to “grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way, especially as the result of a particularly favorable environment,” and it really embodies what Summit is about.

We chose Flourish as this year’s Summit theme  because that is exactly what we want for each and every Ladyboss. This year’s Summit is specially designed to help you grow or develop in both your personal and professional life.

Over the last year we have especially seen what the world looks like when women are not given ample opportunities to thrive. A world where women are expected to take on too much, give up their dreams, and make really, really tough decisions. We know that we don’t live in a world that is particularly built to help women flourish, and we know that needs to change. But it starts with us helping each other out and lifting each other up. And creating that particularly favorable environment to make it happen.

We wanted to make sure that we stayed true to that second part of the definition. Flowers don’t flourish in dry, dark environments. We wanted to create a space where you could go to ask questions, learn something new, and get to know other Ladybosses. We know you thrive best in an environment that fosters connection and empowerment. Summit is that environment.

At Summit you’ll enjoy opportunities to make connections with like-minded Ladybosses, hear from speakers and experts on topics that will strengthen your life in and out of the workplace, and ask questions of other Ladybosses to learn and develop from each other.
