Ladyboss Book Club: POC Isn’t A Genre

Date : March 4, 2021
Time : 6-7:30 PM
Location :

While many of us have been taking time to educate ourselves on how to be anti-racist, we need to make sure we are reading widely in our fiction choices as well.  Black writers are underrepresented in many genres, including romance, thriller, mystery, and fantasy.  These five picks will help show us POC isn’t a singular genre.

  1. Ties that Tether by Jane Igharo
  2. Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson
  3. A Deadly Inside Scoop by Abby Collette
  4. When No One Is Watching by Alyssa Cole
  5. The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor LaValle

How Ladyboss Book Club works: Read as many of these books as you want, we will discuss themes more than plots! Our virtual meetings are free, but please register beforehand.  In honor of being our unofficial host, Zandbroz will offer 15% off of the Ladyboss picks!
